Write the monologue of a person all alone, standing in front of a mirror, pumping up for and practicing a speech. Start with "Come on, now. You can do this. No one is going to..."

"Come on, now.  You can do this. No one is going to be able to tell the difference.  So what if you've never given this speech?  You've heard Daniel's speeches a thousand times...

"Gather your courage boys.  This isn't just a game, it's life.  Sometimes you get tackled, sometimes you complete the tackle...Wait, no that's not right!  Damn it!  How am I ever going to pull this off?  I'm hopeless!

"But...

"Daniel's counting on me.  He wouldn't have asked me to do this unless he absolutely couldn't do it himself.  He has put everything he has into these boys, and this team. He needs me to carry on in his absence, but how?  How am I going to be him for the team? Sure, we look alike, I mean we are identical twins, and we have done things like this before in the past.  That time we switched places in high school worked out, didn't it? Sure, it did!  Mrs. Hannigan and Mr. Stulhs had no idea that Daniel and I switched places in their classes.  Daniel did my oral report, and I took his math test, and we both got As.

"And the team can't know Daniel's sick.  This is the playoffs, and they would be devastated if they knew.  They'd be off their game, and Daniel doesn't want that.  I have to do this.  I have to do this.  Not because Daniel asked me to, but because it is the right thing to do. Okay, deep breath...  

"Gather your courage boys.  Football isn't just a game, it's life.  Sometimes you get tackled, and sometimes you complete the pass.  But, if you put 100 percent effort into every play, we can say that, no matter what happens on the field today, we will win.  We will be winners.  Let's get out there and make the most of our time on the field!

"Hmm...do coaches really talk like that?  That sounds like a movie script.  Will the kids buy all that flowery stuff?  Should I change the speech Daniel gave me?  

"No, no, he gave me the speech.  He told me how important this is.  Okay.  Straighten your tie.  Jeez, your hair's a mess.  Okay, okay.  Come on, now.  You can do this.  No one is going to be able to tell the difference.  It's time to get out there.  They're waiting.

"It's show time!
